Temporary Restoration

MARK EVANS
05.06.18

In 2 Kings 22 we meet Josiah, king of Judah, who was a godly king who was instrumental in restoring Judah to the Lord. His reforms were far reaching and God honored him for his humility, faithfulness, and love for the Lord. Sadly the effect of his restoration attempts were only temporary because the hearts of the people were not sincere in following the Lord. As followers of Christ, we want the restoration work He does in our lives to be permanent. For that to happen, we need to follow Josiah’s example abide in Christ daily.

Long Division

MARK EVANS
04.29.18

In 1 Kings 11:1-13, we discover that the events that eventually led to the kingdom of Israel exiled in Babylon began with king Solomon’s disobedience over 300 year earlier. While Solomon eventually returned to the Lord, the consequences of his actions led to the eventual exile of the entire nation. Our actions have far reaching consequences therefore we need to love, follow and serve the Lord faithfully.

His Clay

MARK EVANS
04.22.18

This message begins our “Sooner or Later” Series. This series explores the events that led to the division of the kingdom of Israel and what ultimately led to the exile of the entire nation. In this message, we look at the Lord’s message given to the prophet Jeremiah at the Potter’s house. In Jeremiah 18 we discover the Lord is the potter and we are the clay; He can do with us whatever He desires and He will. His desire is to make us into the people that He wants us to be an our peace and contentment comes when we submit to Him and allow Him to form and shape us.

Aftermath

MARK EVANS
04.08.18

The aftermath of Jesus resurrection launched the church and created the environment from which the message of the Gospel spread throughout the known world. How has the aftermath our own decision to follow Jesus affected our families, friends, and community? This is the question we wrestle with in this message from Acts chapter 4.

After Three Days

MARK EVANS
04.01.18

Happy Easter. The resurrection of Jesus Christ literally changed the world. From Matthew 28:1-15, we explore the truth of the resurrection and the joy of eternal life that comes as a result of our faith in Christ. Jesus’ resurrection establishes the truth that He is the Son of God who rescues us from the power of death and gives eternal life to all who place their faith in Him.

Friends

MARK EVANS
03.25.18

In John 15:12-17 Jesus calls His disciples “friends” if they follow His commands. His command is that we love one another as He has loved us. His love was displayed by his laying down His life for us. Are we willing to lay aside our desires and our lives for Christ and His purposes? This is the question we explore in this message from John 15.

Real Fruit

MARK EVANS
03.18.18

In John 15:5-11 Jesus says that this who “abide” in Him will produce His fruit. In Gal. 5:22-23 the Apostle Paul lists the spiritual fruit that the life of those who remain in Christ bear. As we abide in Christ, the fruit we bear should look like the fruit Jesus Himself bears anything less is not real fruit.

Branches

MARK EVANS
03.04.18

John 15:1-17 is the foundation of our “Abide” series. In this series, we discover that Jesus teaches us that as His disciples our role is to remain in Him and in so doing He will produce His fruit in us. He is the “Vine” we are the “branches”; branches bear the fruit the vine produces they do not produce the fruit. Remaining in Christ means that our goal should be to see His fruit in us.

Living Well

MARK EVANS
02.25.18

This message begins our series “Abide”. The word “abide” in the Bible presents one of the most encouraging and challenging concepts in all of the Bible. Abide means “to remain”; when we remain in Christ He brings forth His fruit in our lives and we will never be the same.

Our Great Service

MARK EVANS
02.11.18

Heb. 13:1-25 In His conclusion of his letter to the Hebrews the author reminds us that what it means to worship the Lord is to serve him. The word worship is literally the word for sacrifice, so as followers of Christ we live out our worship every day as we serve those around us.

Our Great Community

MARK EVANS
02.04.18

Heb. 12:14-29 Living in Community with other believers is not always easy. As followers of Christ we must be willing to not only celebrate life’s victories together, we must also be willing to lovingly and patiently hold each other accountable and stand firm with each other through life’s challenges and difficulties. It is the power of the Holy Spirit living in and through each of us that establishes the church as “Our Great Community”.

Our Great Race

MARK EVANS
01.28.18

Hebrews 12:1-13 teaches us that as followers of Christ we are to run the race the Lord has set out for us with endurance, fixing our eyes on Christ who is not only our strength but our goal as well. When we run, Jesus is and supplies all we need to cross the finish line.

Our Great Life

MARK EVANS
01.21.18

Hebrews 11 is known as the “Faith” chapter. In this chapter, we discover that as followers of Christ we have a “sixth sense” known as faith. This faith in Christ is absolutely essential for us to experience life.

Our Great Faith

MARK EVANS
01.14.18

From our GreaterThan series in the Biblical Book of Hebrews. This sermon considers the truth from Hebrews 10:19-39 that placing our “faith” in Christ becomes real to those who follow Him when we understand the depth of Jesus statement, “I am the way the truth and the life…” in John 14:6.
