MEET OUR PASTOR

Mark Evans

Mark grew up in a Christian home just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Through the years he has served Christ and His church in many different ministry roles. He has served as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, youth minister and minister of education. Each of these ministry roles has given him a great appreciation and love for people of all ages and backgrounds. As Pastor, he enjoys most of all seeing the transformation that takes place in the lives of people when they follow Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Mark grew up in the Charlotte area graduated from Independence High School. Growing up Mark worked

with his father in their family business as distributors for Interstate Batteries. His 20 years of experience working in the business taught him the value of a hard day’s work and brought him in contact with people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Mark still leans on the lessons he learned working with his dad and believes these experiences serve him well as a pastor.

At age 14, Mark felt the Lord calling him into ministry, and he served in many different roles as both a volunteer and as a staff minister. It was not until 2006 that Mark began to follow the Lord’s call into full-time ministry. At that time, he enrolled at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and graduated in 2008. In 2008, Mark was called to serve as Minister of Education at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe, N.C. where he served for 5 years leading the adult discipleship ministry.

Mark believes the role of the pastor to be one of a servant and shepherd. In other words, his role is to lead and equip people to become mature followers of Christ who are engaged in Christ’s mission around the corner and around the world. He gets the greatest joy from seeing people commit their lives to following Christ and then seeing the transformation that takes place in their lives as a result.
